Okay, who here likes to mess around with old games on DOS?

Ha! I played plenty of them.
The Mist, Amnesia, Deadline and plenty of others. They're pretty interesting.
I am glad someone your age took a liking to them.

If you're talking about Infocom (Zork, Hitchhikers Guide, Hollywood Hijinx, Planetfall), then yeah there's a mobile app with all of those on it. I have it but rarely look at it anymore. I love games like those, where you actually have to think and get yourself through the story.

I tried Amnesia a while ago, but I couldn't finish it even with the walkthrough.

Do they still work on today's computers? Last time I tried one, Windows was complaining about 16-bit libraries not being compatible. This was on XP, several years ago.
I don't really play them that much because I much prefer today's games.

It is baffling that you never heard of Dosbox.
Those games are text-base adventures, and they aren't like today's games. The text-based adventure have their own mystique.
There are a lot of click and point adventure as well, like house of wax which are really good.
I am playing Wizardry I as well.

Don't shit your pants. Yeah, that is the game's name, I laughed my ass off when I read it. It was made a while later, but th concept is the same. For DOS games, my friend told me that Battle for Wesnoth was made originally for DOS. I downloaded the newer edition with more story. The graphics and all else is the same.

Oh I know what it is. I've just never had a use for it, and so I don't know if it actually works or not. If I need DOS, then I go look for my 4 floppies.
And so far, that was only once.

I know what they are. Emacs has a few of them that I've played before.

And you can make a quick shortcut commands in the config to keep on going to the place where you stored you stuff.

Sometimes, they might look simple, but some of them has some extreme statistical programming done to them.
Suppose you keep doing some of things, you will end up with a different ending or a different scene or different items.
That's what I like about them. And some of them are creepy as hell. Take Amnesia as one(without being a horror story).
