In my school for gym we have to wear a jock-strap for gym class. Does any one else have to do this for gym or just my school? Why this reasoning? What should I wear beside that jock-strap?

I've never heard of a school forcing people to wear a jockstrap, that seems really weird. But i would go for whatever you are wearing at the time. No need to change your underwear for gym class.

I'd never wear a jock strap, they look horrible lol, and not just cos I'm straight.
I don't even do PE/Gym at my school (from I think year 9 onwards it's optional) and I still go to the town Gym everyday to stay fit.
But I just wear boxer briefs like I do any other day o.o

Okay, they do look horrible, BUT absolutely needed in some sports, because when worn with a cup, nothing protects you more than that combo. So the question becomes, if you played a sport where you really needed one, how would your junk in the cup. THAT'S what I wanna know. :)
In my country we have no sports that need it haha

Understood. I believe they are needed for baseball, hockey, lacrosse and that's all I can think of, but what about cricket? Basically any sport with a hard ball or puck that can move really fast.
Also, I lost sight of the fact that it's about PE class, not sports in general. :(
Haha yeah, we don't need jock straps/cups for ANYTHING in New Zealand lol

We gotta wear a jock in gym class. Doesn't matter what we do we gotta have them on. Outside of gym I never wear it.

Why - well I guess you should ask the school that one.
I do for PE and sports - maybe jock - cool less sweat or compression shorts.
with a jock I might just wear shorts or briefs over the jock - just depends really.

At my school we did not have any uniform in regards to underwear though i think it would have been better as it means that people wouldn't be teased about what they wore as everyone would have to wear the same thing.

feel best wearing a jock but sometimes briefs are fine to. just depends on my workout. for running I always wear the low profile swim jock.
