All my mom buys is boxers that I hate. She always gets them when I don't go with her because when were both shopping together I feel weird saying "Can you buy me more underwear" so I don't. I never actual tell her I want boxer briefs instead, and that are not a freaking cheap brand out of the bargain bin, because I feel really awkward and uncomfortable talking about that stuff. :(
Am I suppose to just man up and tell her exactly what to get or what?

Just say: "Mom can you buy me boxer briefs please instead of boxers" thanks!
I said something similar when I asked for briefs instead of boxers.

Maybe you should ask her for money for clothing and buy it yourself, that way it's on clothing, you're not lying to her and she won't choose the wrong things as you'll be buying.

Just ask her man. It's not like you're asking her to buy you condoms or something that you would want to keep a secret. Underwear are just a piece of clothing haha. It's no different then asking her to buy you a different type of undershirt.
I told my mom I wanted some boxer briefs along with my boxers. Nbd. I also got her to buy me some compression shorts for tennis. It's really not a big deal unless you try and make it one.

Just tell her that you want to wear a different style of underwear

recently i had to tell my mom to get me some briefs cause i wanted to try them again (been wearing boxer shorts for a while). like the one guy here said, it isn't a big deal unless you make it that way. just be normal and just say what you want.

I asked for boxers when I was tired of tighty whities a long time ago. It's easy both said and done.

You're old enough to dress yourself, buy your own clothes

When I want something and I don't want to ask my mom FACe to face then I text her! Its a lot easer.

In the words of my 6 year old sister " Dude hike up your skirt and " ( the rest ill say ) ask your mom for boxer breifs. If you don't she'll keep buying you boxers , she isn't a mind reader so you'll have to say something.

For some reason I don't mind too much talking to my parents about that stuff, it's just something in life that everybody needs and my mum is quite cool with it and she will just go with me and get them

Your mom shouldn't think it's weird to ask that question, just do it! It's worth the comfort!
