Girls, did you have a similiar experience? I had a school exam recently and I wanted to look smart so I wore black figure hugging maxi skirt from asos, which I bought a day before without really trying it on. On the way to school I noticed that the skirt didn't have much room around the ankles and forced me to walk with steps half shorter that I normally walk, lol. It was too late to go back and change so I decided to just bear with it since the bus drives straight to school and and during exam you just sit. However after exam my friends asked me to go dine out, do some window shopping at shopping malls, you know, girls stuff. I accepted only to regret it later, I had trouble keeping up with them with my small steps, sometimes I had to break into run to not be left beind, lol. After few hours I got exhausted from shuffling like geisha all the time. I'm going to shorten the skirt or add a knee-high split and need to try new clothes better before buying them. Have you had similiar experience? :)

First off, you should really try on clothes before you buy them. I have always worn skirts, so now pants are awkward for me. You just need to get used to it. Most maxis are either wider near the feet, or end higher on the leg. Perhaps you purchased the wrong size?

Maxi skirts are usually comfortable, but it depends on what do you like.

Not really. All skirts I've ever worn were pretty comfortable and were not hard to walk in. Granted, I don't like skirts much...

I once wore a pretty long skirt to a home school group. Day 1 and of COURSE they did PE without telling anybody of the families before hand. Just before we started running, which I could do in a skirt, the lady leading told us all to raise our legs over our heads while our backs were on the ground if we were ready to run. I kept my legs dooowwwnnn >:(
I thought as a female she would at least notice I had not been informed of the class, but NOPE.

I don't wear long skirts at all, and only wear long dresses for formal occasions. The longest skirt I have goes about 6 inches below my ass.
