Gym Showers

At what grade do you start to see people take showers after gym. Today some kid took a shower and he is the only one out of all my grade. Everyone was surprised that he did it lol...

I'm 16 and I think people do....I don't take gym so yeah haha, I'm too nervous myself.

Haha my school's nice, from year 9 or 10 onwards I think we don't have to take it, or yr 11 onwards

At my school it was middle school so about 10.

We don't take showers after gym. They don't give us enough time. You have to take a shower after sports after school tho or everyone says you're gross and smell and stuff so everyone does.

I know the US school grades differ from the uk but age 12 - is our secondary school srat age.

I shower after PE some off the class do also - all the sports teams guys shower as well.

At my school no one takes a shower, there's just not enough time after PE classes (thank God :D)

My classmates and I are told to take showers. Mostly everyone is naked and showers so no biggy. Us Indiana boys aren't shy.

i think it varies a lot from school to school.
in my school some guys did in junior high.
in my high school everyone showers because you kind of have to.

ya after gym like there is no time but after sports like if we have vollyball or basketball turnaments then ya some of us do like half and im in grade 7 so and nobody did it in grade 6 but i have showered in hockey since grade 6 but like half do.. but my brother he is 11 and most all his team showers in hockey

Me and few of my friends started in 7th grade, but most of the guys don't shower, it's not mandatory.

im home schooled, but shower after playing sports, i was like 8 when i started showering after sports

In 6th grade we were told that we had to and it wasn't a choice. Had to wear a jock strap and blue gym shorts and white T shirt too.

They only say we have to if we use the pool for gym. The only boys that do it besides that r the bigger ones.

At my school we have showers but nobody actually uses them apart from shoving somebody into it for a joke.

At my school, you technically can in 6th grade but no one does. We've taken them a couple times this year (8th grade) but its not required

showering is optional during gym but changing before and after is mandatory... something i dont do because i am too nervous to do it

In Jr High (7 and 8) there were showers in the boys and girls lockers but none of the boys used them after class that i ever remembered. I heard some did after sports practice, but I wasn't on any teams. I heard some girls would take them sometimes, but I can't say that is true first hand :( But I remember some girls talking about how this one assistant looked at them weird when she handed them towels. hah, I was more surprised to find out some girls actually used the showers after class then that the teacher might have been gay.

In high school, our gym classes are broken into sections and I was assigned to swimming as my first 8-week section (it was my first class too - so my first high school experience was getting naked after the first day orientation). So I guess that is when I first started taking a shower after gym. The showers are in between the lockers and the door to the pool, so you can't really avoid not taking a shower and we were all supposed to anyhow before and after. Most of us take one before just long enough to get wet, and almost everyone does after.

But in my regular gym section I don't take showers after class and almost nobody does except some juniors and seniors do usually but nobody in my class does.

I don't use them too much because I live close by and can just drive home, but if I'm in a rush, I shower at school.
