These are pictures I took on our Road Trip from South Africa to Zambia. Our route took us on the Great North Road through Botswana, the Zambezi River and past the Victoria Falls. Although we didn't exactly get to the Victoria Falls, I have been at the bottom of the falls and they are just breath taking and very beautiful.

Also, these are not the best pictures I have taken, they're taken with an old Cannon Digital Camera. And the Lens has some dirt on the inside.

I know what your thinking, its really flat, and is like that for 5 hours down the road. This is between Francis Town and Kazungula Boarder Post between Zambia and Botswana.

As we get closer to the boarder post, we begin to see more and more Elephants.

Some Giraffe if your in the right time of year.

As we enter the vicinity of the Boarder on the Botswana side, we see lots and lots of Baboons. They're there all year round.

Me and my little brother infront of Botswana's newest fairy (thats what we call them this side), its starboard engine broke, and the shaft to the propeller snapped. The fairy was only 6 months in service before this happened. While the much larger Zambian one has been in service for nearly 50 years.

The car we were using, an old Audi 400.

The 50 year old Zambian fairy, with its newly fitted outboard engines.

Onboard the fairy, looking at the starboard or port side engine.

Me again, this time on the phone talking to my best friend, she hadn't heard from me in 3 days so was going slightly insane lol. (Btw, its a three day trip at normal speed, we once did it in 2 days XD)

And in the background a member of Zambia's military. One of the strongest in central/southern africa. Luckily they didn't see the Camera. We're technically not allowed to take these pictures of the fairies lol.

On the right, my mom busy dealing with a Zambian who wants to help us import the vehicle, we had to pay a 3rd party tax, so this guy was helping us with that.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but anyways, there ya have it. I have driven that road a total of 26 times in the 11 years I lived in Zambia.

Yep, going on this road sure is fun, although driving it at night isn't as much fun. We once hit a small deer about the height of a medium sized Labrador with our mini-bus.

Wasn't pretty, but we saw it too late, and couldn't stop in time or veer out in time to avoid hitting the poor little guy (may his soul rest in peace). But other than that one time, the road is quite fun to drive on, and it is awesome to see all those elephants and giraffe and baboons. While the baboons are common throughout that part of africa, still awesome to see them lol
