I'm not stressing over it or anything; it's just that I'm in ZERO AP classes, and I am not very talented at anything I can think of... I have bad memory too. I also USED to be ignorent. Before I joined this site, I was a homophobe... I mean obviously, I'm not any more, but still.... :(
On top of it all, I don't even know if I'm stupid or not. Look at the title of this thread.

I've never been in any AP classes either - not being in any doesn't determine your intelligence. But then again, I feel the same as you -- I don't feel like I'm good at anything either :/

Just because people are in AP classes doesn't mean that they're smart.
If you're in an AP class and get a good grade, then you are because it really does take a lot of work and time. There are PLENTY of students that sign up for AP and drop out or do very poorly.

I personally don't see myself as a smart person, but my hard work and hours of studying does pay off and AP classes have really disciplined me into actually trying hard, doing work, studying (something that I NEVER did in regular classes).

Dude, I graduated from high school with no chemistry or physics credits and what used to be called "514 maths" where they would teach us excellent things like how to calculate the probability of a six-faced dice landing on number 2. In grade 11.

The high school itself was kind of a joke. A lot of teenage pregnancies and drug use - girls used to throw back methbombs in the toilet before classes and I've seen many a teacher chewed up by students - some were very intimidating and already up in the street gang food chain and shit.

Then in college, I took one of the easiest streams leading to university. I don't even have calculus, or even statistics. I just had a bunch of language classes and artistic nonsense. I shared classes with many truly stupid people.

Aside from university where I am a law student in his 3rd and final year, my academic path is not one where you could say "wow that dude is smart, look at those killer classes", so no, not having AP classes doesn't make you stupid, nor does not knowing a lot of stuff or not knowing a lot of big words or even being a homophobe. I am just a straight up underachiever, but I am smart. Even so far in my education, I don't open my overpriced books much. I just catch on quickly.

Intelligence is not what you know, but the potential you have to know new things, your natural wit and fluidity of spirit.

AP classes teach how to pass a single test because it makes the school looks good and gets funding. my school has like 20. i haven't taken one since 9th grade. i tried to do the same in 10th, then i got a 74 and waived down to honors, where i was actually taught interesting content.
just because you aren't in AP, doesn't mean that you're stupid. school tests your memory, not your intelligence. However, the kids who do well in AP classes also have a very good work ethic. it's not all about intelligence as it is effort. i admit that i did not try very hard, so obviously i did very poorly in my AP class and a half

Yeeh, I figured that one out. Oh, and the kid with the 760 doesn't have money. His parents do. I have money because I work my ass off at McDonalds so I can buy a used car or like 5 grand...

The only thing that would make you be truly stupid would be complete ignorance towards the rest of the world, however taking no AP classes does not determine your intelligence. Everyone tells me I am intellectual, yet my grades are quite average and I decided not to take AP classes for my sophomore year so I can take IB the years after that. That doesn't mean I am stupid. Nor does being a homophobe mean your stupid, just that you think a certain way.

Please enjoy a 9/11 joke to accompany this post:
Q: What was the last thing going through Mr. Jones’ head when he was working on the World Trade Center’s 90th floor?
A: The 91st floor.

I never said I was a homophobe. I'm actually the opposite. Oh, and that's pretty good. I find 9/11 jokes just PLANE wrong.

AP's mean nothing in the real world. Reality is, as long as it shows that you're at least attending school, you're in good hands. I'm in the lowest possible lane of low in almost all my classes and I'm getting D's, but I don't really consider myself stupid. I'd never worry/invest in a AP, because even if i'm "barely passing" high school, I'll still get a job doing what I like.

AP's are nothing more than a shiny sticker for colleges, so don't kill yourself over them.

Yeah Rob, it's not a big deal. I'm starting high school this fall, in all honors. I had almost no say in this. My teachers recommended me and my parents would not change it. To hell if I get a B- or a C+. It's better than getting an A+ every time because you have to try harder. As long as you're trying to do well in school, that's all that counts.

Holy Christ your not in an AP class? Your the worlds biggest dumbass. You'll work at McDonalds for the rest of your life. You'll never make it anywhere. No I'm sure you can figure out the above is extreme sarcasm. Anyways I'm not in any AP classes either. Hell I'm barely passing. But I know things other people don't. Everyone's smart in their own way. Just because your not in AP classes doesn't mean your stupid at all

That doesn't mean you're stupid. I'm smarter than most people in AP classes.

Not being in AP doesn't mean your not smart. I've been in 0 AP as well, it just means that everyone learns differently, don't stress out so much because once you enter university you can start learning the things you want fresh as a whole. The truth is you don't need to take these advanced classes to be successful in life or to be happy either, you attain those things by doing what you do best and by persisting through hard work and effort you will be successful.
