Speedo or no Speedo

So I have noticed speedos becoming more and more popular in the states. I use to be on swim team so I had to wear a speedo all the time for practice and for competitions. I am wondering if I can now wear my speedo to the beach and to pools and stuff? If not how come?

Yeah, everyone in Europe wears them. I am very secure about myself but I don't want to freak them out.

I think it's a little over the top. Like, this isn't the damn olympics, it's a public beach. Nobody wants to see your bulge.

I was gonna buy this one for senior week. But they discontinued it. And it will be the first time I wear a Speedo. I just wanna try it, and i don't really care what other people think. It will be fun!!

I'm on the swim team and on the SLS(beach sports) team and we wear speedos, but just for a casual swim I wear boardshorts

recently got a speedo for the beach. so did my brother and some friends. I prefer wearing it now instead of boardies, more comfortable in he water and it dries faster.

My bros and I wear speedos . Don't own a pair of board shorts and I don't think I am missing a thing. As I posted elsewhere our parents buy them for us , Mom and Dad ereally approve of water sports and dislike football maybe that is why theu want us to wear them.

That is all we have ever worn whiule swimming ort just hanging out at my cousin's pool. Am 15 now and each of my brothers is about a year and a half older. My favorite color is red or orange - they show a great tan.

Brother bought one 2 years ago turns out to be pretty transparent when wet so he bought a white one that was double layer water polo suit and that one is ok.

To be honest, only get one I'd you have the body for it. Girls and guys alike would be grossed out if you wore a speedo and you didn't have a good body. Good body meaning abs, pecs, etc.

Also, you should shave if you wear one. Shave your butt, upper thigh, pubes, and maybe even stomach and back.

speedos are one of those things that fall into the "a lot of ppl who wear them shouldn't". But I will say being on a swim team for as many years as I have I never get tired of looking at the guys on our team in their speedos ;)

I personally like speedos. I want one, but idk where to buy them in my area. I've recently become more comfortable with my body, which is probably why I want one. But as for other people, if they don't like it, then they can look somewhere else. Even if they do like it, look somewhere else. I don't like being stared at. Lol

Exactly :p if someone doesn't wanna see then they shouldn't be looking, I wear them for swimming training and surf life saving.

For competitive swimming, I'd say a speedo is essential kit. For chilling on the beach I prefer short-ish shorts.

Usually I wear shorts in outdoor pools
For sun bathing I prefer speedos :)
Most indoor pools in my area don't allow shorts anymore because speedos are considered to be cleaner as they are not worn outside.
