Circumcision for girls

There's so many threads here about guys being cut or uncut. I've heard that girls can be circumcised too. For bys it meand the removal of the foreskin around the head of the penis.
What does that entail for a girl?
Are there any girls out there that has had this done and why?

It removes the clit so as to make sex less pleasurable or not at all for females or so they won't sin by way of masturbation etc
It's 100% a male dominance thing

It's the sexual equivalent of cutting the glans/head off your cock - it has no sanitation benefits like male circumcision was originally for

Many die from infections from having it done to them

Cricky, that sounds awful. I'm glad it' sounds quite rare amongst girls now (though would rather not see it at all!).

Female circumcision is really an inaccurate term. I think they really call it female genital mutilation since that's a more accurate description for it.

o Like Eva said, circumcision occurs in mostly 3rd world countries, but I've heard that many cases happen in UK too. You can hardly call it circumcision, it's more like FGM (female genital mutilation).
o The reasons why this is done are mainly religious.
o There are different types of female circumcision: one is the removal of the clitoris, another one is the removal of the clitoris, and inner labia.
o The most used one, which is the worst, is the total removal of the outer vagina, usually using a blade and then tying the legs together for the wound to heal. If they are lucky enough to survive the cutting, girls spend few week with their legs tied and no medication whatsoever. The worst part is even to come: after the circumcision and healing, they are left only with a small hole for urinating and menstruation. This makes sexual intercourse very uncomfortable and painful for the woman.
When the time has come for the girl to give birth, the small hole is cut open, allowing the baby to be born. Many girls die because of the bloodloss.

It is also done by a variety of African tribes with no connection to Islam. Christians and Jews and other religions have done terrible things as well. Don't stereotype.

You don't have to read much of the koran, hadith and suras to see how women were considered by mohammed and his ilk

When I asked the question, I didn't realise how bad it was for girls to have this done. I think it's sad that some men want that, and I hope when I do finally get to enjoy sex with a girl, it's a pleasure for both of us! Isn't that part of the fun?
