I didn't start shaving til i got pregnant, and the only reason i'm shaving now is because i want to be used to being shaved for when i give birth.

It's still super rare to see a girl with any hair much less a bush
Stubble in between shaves is the most usually

I hope it's coming back into fashion because I don't intend to shave mine. I'll need to trim for the summer though.

When I see pubic hair on a girl I almost feel ill. Luckly, it is pretty rare that I see pubic hair on anyone.

It's an evolutionary throwback - it serves no purpose and really is a negative thing these days, it holds bacteria/scent

I don't think so.
Any of my friends who have ever offered up that information are all shavers.

I don't think so, but I would like to see more tolerance of it developing. A girl isn't disgusting for choosing not to shave, a revolutionary idea contrary to the popular consensus.

I really don't know what all the fuss is about. Surely it's a personal decision. No-one can be right or wrong. Does anyone agree with that?

Well, the stuff directly near ehem, down South, I think personally is better left unshaven.
It's just my own opinion, but I like people as they are. That is to say, I don't look at anybody`s but my own( proud virgin) but I'll be fine if my soul mate has it or not.

Honestly, as long as thongs and bikinis remain popular, shaving will be considered "in." I had read something a while ago that suggested shaving became popular in the 90s when girls started wearing thongs.
Obviously, you'll always have girls who don't shave all the way, or even shave at all, but I think "bald" will be most popular for a long, long time.

I don't really care what's fashionable in that department, my vagina isn't a fashion show. I keep mine pretty smooth because I like it that way, but I've seen other girls who don't shave it all off that are sexy too.

I don't think having a bush is coming back. I've seen more people with landing strips though. I go completely shaved. I just like the look and feel better.

It's an evolutionary throwback - it serves no purpose and really is a negative thing these days, it holds bacteria/scent
Not what we want
I do not know who is teaching you about health at your school:what:, but pubic hair serves the purpose of STOPPING such bacteria from reaching your inner genitalia. Of course it will get the scent. that is why you clean yourself and wash away all the filth that did not reach your vagina thanks to those perky hairs. :yeah:
Furthermore, pubic hair removal naturally irritates and inflames the hair follicles left behind, leaving microscopic open wounds. Rather than suffering a comparison to a bristle brush, frequent hair removal is necessary to stay smooth, causing regular irritation of the shaved or waxed area. When that irritation is combined with the warm moist environment of the genitals, it becomes a happy culture medium for some of the nastiest of bacterial pathogens, namely Group A Streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus and its recently mutated cousin methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). There is an increase in staph boils and abscesses, necessitating incisions to drain the infection, resulting in scarring that can be significant. It is not at all unusual to find pustules and other hair-follicle inflammation papules on shaved genitals.
Like our brows and lashes, which protect our eyes from foreign particles and bacteria drawn to them by the sweat on our forehead, pubes protect our private parts. They do not need to be full bush to help, a well trimmed, but not too short, will still make you feel more well groomed, while protecting you.

Sammie, I think that what you're saying is WAY overblown by people who try to make a health case for their own choices. Pubes just don't matter that much either way to be honest.
Clar, I was just correcting Eva's statement that it serves no purpose. Everyone is free to do as they please with their bodies as long is not mutilating it, that is another problem and need assistance ASAP. I am getting ready to go to premed and for that been reading health journals and medical material, what I said it is medically proven. The fact that you can survive without something does not make that something useless.
So, summing up, do pubes serve a purpose? yes they do; can you live without them? yes you can; should you live without them? It is up to you; is having pubes and not cleaning yourself daily a risk for your health? yes; Does shaving increase the chances of skin infection and then genital? if you do not sanitize your razors after each use (which most people do not do) yes and elevates the risk of genital infections.

I think that realization of self beauty is coming back into style. It hardly matters anymore if you go natural or clean shaven, it's what you like, who you are.

I think it's still the most normal to shave and no one apart from fetishists wants bushes back
I'm all smooth and have a tiny patch of hair a bit above my slit like my mother does too

I'm the only girl in a lot of my classes and the lads seem to love "The Landing Strip" A narrow line of trimmed pubes in the middle and then completely shaved. I think the like the idea of an arrow to guide them . .

i spent a few years in Hong Kong when my dad was assigned back there by his company. to be honest, it was very rare to see anyone shaved whenever i was in the gym shower. my friends told me that majority of asians do not shave.
i do, tho, cuz my mom told me to when i was 15 and then i just got used to it.

well if porn is any indicator, then it is. a couple years ago I never saw anyone with pubes in porn, now I see some that do.
Only like 1 out of every 5 girls I know shave their pubes, most trim.

Who are you seeing with pubic hair? girls in gym usually shave or trim only one or two younger ones maybe don't shave. Are you just seeing girls who haven't started shaving yet and is that what's giving you the idea that it is comming back. It can be a little scary shaving your kitty the first time.

I've seen lots of girls in the locker room at school, and I have freinds that I'm sexual with or just get naked with. Maybe you see more shaved girls because you're older.

I agree that self beauty is important and maybe becoming more thought about and discussed. However, I still am not seeing may girls that don't shave. I know that I always do. I also wax. But I wonder if maybe that is due to we tend to want to be like or look like what we see around us the most and I do not see many with hair?

Now, I'm being completely honest here when I say that pubic hair will probably NOT be coming back into "style" anytime soon.
Don't get me wrong. I have no issue with pubic hair and I even find myself keeping some from time to time or when I'm not dating or whatever I just forget trying to shave and maybe have an easier time trimming for a few months. BUT there is this social stigma against pubic hair now that I feel will not go away for a long time.
Will this always be the case? I think not. Fads go in a cycle and one day, possibly with a new wave of feminism or something along the lines of a "cultural rejuvenation" will happen perhaps decades from now which will bring pubic hair back into style and pretty soon maybe shaving could be seen as a little weird instead.
So my answer, as of today, is no. Its not. But will pubic hair have a chance to come back into "style" in the near or distant future? Definitely maybe.

Actually, most of my friends don't shave. I don't all the time. Just every once in a while when It gets bad. Most guys don't care, especially around here.

I don't think so.
We live in a world where humans tend to be sophisticated, unnatural.
I hate the natural look, I always wax all my body hair, i never go out without makeup or without my hair being straightened. I put a very big accent on the looks.
Don't think of me as a plastic bitch or something like that, even if I like wearing makeup and all that, everything has a limit. It a difference between a person who puts effort in his/hers look and one who looks like a character form jersey shore.
Also, a hairless guineea pig looks like a small hippo.

Gotta be bald. Easier to keep clean down there less chance of odor (according to some older women in my family) , and it feels great to th touch.
( im beginning to wonder if im narcissicistic ) or maybe i just love touching my self

I am 16, and only lately, like in the couple of months or so, I have been growing my pubic hair again. I of course trim it every now and then, but I think having pubic hair looks nicer than having it fully shaved. So yes, it's definitely coming into style again!

I don't think it is. I keep mine smooth, but don't care if someone else doesn't shave. I have always been interested in seeing a girl with a lot of hair though. Just cause it is somethin different.
