I have to say that before I came here to VT, I had never heard the term "wank" and "wanking" for masturbation. And I love this word. It's a has a funny sound to it. Seems a lot nicer term than "jacking off". I'm guessing this is mostly a slang word used in the UK, Ireland and Australia? Do they call it wanking in Canada? Is there anyplace in the US it's used, like New England? Himm...

I wander if VT did a list of definitions, given theres teens all over the wold, that could come up with terms for masturbating, jacking off, wanking, beating the meet, or any number of terms!

I believe it originated from the UK, where people call each other a wanker sometimes. Wanker like in the meaning of asshole or something.

They really only say that in the uk and btw I have never heard of wanking since I came on this site too.... Now I only call it that lol

Yeah, it did originate from the UK, but wanker has ALWAYS meant someone that masturbates, that's why when people call someone a wanker for an insult, it basically means "you're addicted to masturbation and that's all you do"

Wank is the only term used in Australia, if you said jerk off you would probably just get laughed out haha

Being from the UK myself, we don't use the term 'jack off', we'll say wanking. It's great since how with 'wank' you can call someone a wanker, but with 'jack' you can't exactly call someone a jacker 0_o
