Flags and hopes

As the title says,describe the reasons of why the flag of your countries are like what they are!
What hopes lay behind those flags for your people?

I serve not the current regime of Serbia. The flag has no meaning for me. The only flag I recognize is the hammer and sickle, or the red five-point star.

As you see,my country flag has three colors:Green,White,Red

Green means:Always be green and pretty like heaven.

White means:Peace for our country forever

Red means:Always respect the blood of martyrs.

In green and red part we have 22 "الله اکبر" means "God is greater!"

And the emblem is a artistic writing of "لا اله الا الله" means "There is no god only the God!"

Yellow is for the riches found in the country.
Blue for the seas that separate it from Spain.
Red is for the blood of those who liberated it.
The seven (or eight depending on political orientation) stars symbolize the original provinces.

The white cross is from the ancient flags of France, the white fleurs de lis symbolize purity (and France) and the blue field is...probably because of France again.

By the way, we are French, if that wasn't obvious.

White for France, red for England, the maple leaf is for Canada, and I suppose it being red on the white field is because the English kicked our asses.

Our flags are decidedly stupid.
