Hi..
My friend has been taking DXM for 2 days. She took 8 pills yesterday and 8 today. She said she likes the feeling. She bought them off of the guy she buys her pot from.
I am scared for her.. I read the symptoms on my phone. She was showing a few. Her skin was flushing, she felt like she was going to vomit in gym class, and she couldn't keep her balance.
I'm scared for her. Pot is one thing, but I don't want her to mess up her career (especially going into the military) by doing DXM and then harder drugs, possibly.

ive done DXM twice got to a high 3rd plateau was pretty fun but dirty at the same time, you get that rash to and you lose motor skills. It isnt the healthiest thing to do,and if consuming one should space out their trips

DXM is a dissociative. Dissociatives create brain lesions with long term use. If you're going to take DXM, NEVER take it two days in a row, I'd say once every month is ideal, less is best. There's nothing wrong with recreational use in moderation, as with everything else. If she was flushing, had nausea and was losing her balance in gym class she was obviously under the influence. Taking DXM is like being drunk except that your brain's mostly all there, so you can think as fluently but cannot get your body to do the shit you want it to do.
Also, if she's the same age as you, she's going to fuck up her brain development. Do not touch drugs until the important parts of the brain are done growing, so around 18. DXM is an extremely strong substance : even if it seems like "just" cough syrup, it deserves to be treated with the same respect as anything else.
Also your friend is kinda dumb. DXM pills off her dealer? Seriously? Tell her to buy over the counter in any drugstore, if only for her safety, since DXM is often mixed in with guaifenesin or acetaminophen. One gets you violently sick, the other can kill you.

@Jean Poutine
Though some dissociatives can cause brain lesions there is no evidence that dxm does. Regular dxm use may lead to psychological issues but the concern these issues raise varies subjectively. Many long-term dxm users actually enjoy seeing everything from a "different" psychological view.
The effects of a low dose of dxm can feel fairly similar to being drunk but the method your body uses to metabolize the drug is completely different. Simply explained dissociatives disconnect your brain/memory/mind from your body.
@xAlfredo
Seems like she doesn't like where her life is heading (bored/confused with life) and is experimenting with drugs for either escapism or self-development. If you really want to help her I'd advise getting some acid.

And the alternative is buying overpriced Coricidin from your street dealer who might one day decide to get pills with guai/acetaminophen and get you one hell of a bargain more than you wanted.
If you can't buy, then wait. What's the big deal?

Better play it safe. My DXM consumption remains very espaced, and there is evidence of brain damage in many heavy long time users according to reports on Erowid.

Let me be frank;
Tell her the following... I have personally done multiple research chemicals, ecstasy, shrooms, lsd, painkillers, etc... and not a single one is as damaging as DXM in terms of physical side effects, and possible permanent damage.
What a horrible idea, DXM is one of the worst drugs available. It causes psychotic delusions for some people, and the destruction of their insides. I know a girl who went to the hospital after a single package of these at a party!
