I'm doing a project for my biology class where we have to find an article discussing a genetically modified food. I was hoping that some of you would be willing to help with this assignment by answering some of the following questions or just expressing your general opinion on what you read.

Here's the article:
http://green.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/...or-tomato-rot/

1.Blossom end rot has been a major source of financial destitution for both commercial and recreational fruit growers around the world. The traditional methods used for preventing the occurrence of this disease can prove to be both expensive and time consuming. What possible financial benefits could the new genetically modified tomato, capable of resisting blossom end rot provide?

2.In the article, Dr. Handa, the creator of the genetically modified tomato, states, “It's only a matter of time until genetically modified crops will be accepted by most of the population.” Do you agree with his statement? What are your personal opinions on the consumption of genetically modified foods?

3.What are some negative repercussions that can occur for commercial companies interested in selling Dr. Handa's tomatoes?

I know this is kinda boring, but I would seriously love some feedback

i think its only good financially, and thats not what they should be looking at when it comes to food.
they even splice fishes(cant remember which) genes into tomatoes to help them resist cold.
its just too unnatural for something ill be putting into my body for the sake of my health.

We don't know the ill effect of GMO food.

Naturally found food are easily strengthened and fortified naturally by selective breeding. So no need to cross the boundaries.
