So I've been experiencing pain in the fronts of my lower legs and my track coach told me that I probably have shin splints. I didn't think they were that severe so I continued with track but lately they've been hurting a lot. Even when I'm not running. I looked shin splints up on WebMD but I read that they can take MONTHS to heal. However, I have a big meet coming up and I need to practice. Is there anyway that I can continue with track without permanently damaging my legs?

what did your coach say to do?
if you dont heal a shin splint properly you could break bones in your leg and tear up muscle, your leg and will then possibly need surgery and you will have problems there for years after, sorry if that sounds really grim,

that being said i suggest talking to a doctor or a chiropractor
for now ice the area, wear an ace bandage, elevate ur leg and have alot of tlc
