Therapist??

I think I'm in love with my therapist...I looked it up online and apparently its a common thing and its called "transference" but im not sure if i should tell him or not..I'm not sexually attracted to him, i just love him. I get so nervous when i see him ><

If you tell him one of two things could happen.

One, he could tell you that ethically it would be wrong for him to continue seeing you and being your therapist.

Two, he could simply want to work through those feelings with you and work to diffuse them.

Any good therapist will follow a strict code of doctor/patient ethics and in most case transference can often lead to a therapist or psychologist recommending their patient to a colleague.

I'm sure you want to keep seeing him so the idea of not telling him might be more appealing, but I'd also say that keeping secrets from your therapist sort of goes against the whole point of seeing one.

I've always tried to see male therapists as I can easily see myself getting attached to a female therapist given the level of intimate details I'm sharing.

Thats what I'm afraid of :( I feel like i should tell him, but I dont want to lose him as a therapist, id die!

I don't think you would lose him, if he's a professional. He's had to have seen this before. I'm sure he'll take it as a compliment but obviously can't go further with it. Don't worry, ok?
