to be fair your body will take only as much as it needs, then you just have protein rich pee. Thats why you should preferably take protein shakes after sport as your body needs more protein for growth+repair

Al you really need is sugars and carbs after a workout, you just have to make sure you eat enough protein throughout the day, not just after a workout. Having protein after a workout vs before has no effect. Everything like repair occurs in sleep. Therefore there's no need to stock up on protein after a workout. Your body doesn't really repair/grow itself after a workout, mostly during sleep.
No, you will not just have protein rich pee.

It depends on your body, weight and the physical activity you do. I do karate four times a week, home exercise and cardio on weekends. I take 80 g. of whey protein.

100 grams is enough. 150 is probably too much if you aren't doing daily intense workouts.
I have a lot less because I tend to forget meals :P Probably 40-70 fluctuating but I really need some more.

I do intense workouts. About 1 gram per body lb
But I weigh 158 so I'm doing even less protein eating

You should have protein within 30 mins of working out, it feeds the muscles when they are still active.
Carbs and sugar are pretty much the same thing, carbs turn in to sugar and if your having carbs it would be before a workout to give you a sugar hit to help boost your performance over a short period.
If you wanting to lose weight you cut right down on carbs and have more protein as protein doesn't turn into sugar.

Where is everyone getting their protein from? What else other than whey?

Al you really need is carbohydrates and carbohydrates after a exercise, you just have to create sure you eat enough proteins throughout the day, not just after a exercise. Having proteins after a exercise vs before has no impact. Everything like fix happens in rest.
