My friend is going to a weekend long convention in May. I was going to go but I figured I wouldn't have the money by the time it comes around but I think I'll at least be able to cover admission fees for one day. I told my friend I wasn't going, but now that I am I'm thinking of not telling him I'm going and to text him from my phone (he doesn't have the number for it because it's technically only used for when I don't have WiFi for my texting app) and to tell him that someone wants to see him by a certain shop and surprise him that way.

Do you think that would be a nice idea or should I just tell him I'm going?
