hey all I don't cut I'm just trying out new forums I have a friend that self harms sometimes and I don't really know why so maybe I could find out why people self harm? anyway hi:)

So people self harm for loads of reasons. It could be:
They have a lot of problems and feel overwhelmed, and use it as a coping mechanism.
It could be that they're punishing themselves. I know I do it sometimes.
They may just be looking to feel something, anything at all.
Some people like pain. Some people like the sight of blood.

There are so many other reasons, and you just need to tell your friend that you're there, and if he wants to talk he can talk to you.
