me and broken pen think there should be a history room! in it you could talk about history or have a mini friendly debate about history! such as what would have happened if Germany won ww2? I really want this and think it would be good if not great! and credit to broken pen it was his idea:)

I mean, with debates they usually go into ROTW, or if it doesn't have a topic it goes into TWPR. I suppose it's not really needed for a help site, but then again I hate History so yes I will be biased indeed.

Nope, there is no need for a History section. It will end up just merging with Politics due to the fact that 99% of History is Politics. It would also end up not being used that much due to the fact only about 5-10 people regularly use ROTW and people have asked for a Politics section so it would just end up splitting off into other relms.

Firstly it's not my choice but it's just people have been asking for a politics section before and it always got shut down. I also can't really see the need for it on a teen help site, I mean I love ROTW because of the broadness. A history section would end up becoming rather narrow,espically due to the fact that it would end up to more arguments about pretty much nothing. I also feel that not many people on here really care about History too much, where as with social issues e.g gay marriage,racism people are more likely to get engaged. And politics is in every ounce of History, I've finished my history GCSE and every single course Vietnam, Protest, Medicine and Weimar Germany all had elements of Politics

Nonetheless, ROTW already serves this function and this idea fits perfectly within it.

"What if..." scenarios already fit the requirements of a ROTW discussion. You'll be getting differing viewpoints, and it will inevitably become a debate.

There's no need to create another forum for this.

I see what you are saying, but all of the above go into Ramblings of the Wise. Political, Historical, and Religious discussions all go there.

So wouldn't it be redundant to have both a diary and a board? In my opinion a diary is just fine for it, and all other debates/political information an go in ROTW or TWPR.

More people are interested in music than history, that's why. A section is only made if there is a great demand for it. I must say, I admire your dedication to getting a section made, but it's probably not going to be done.

If you really want to talk about history I think you can put it in education and careers. Now if you want to debate on history then it should go in rambling of the wise.

If you want to have a thread like that you would be better off posting it in The White Padded Room. The Education and Careers forum wasn't really meant for those types of threads.
