Don't want to mess up friendship

I'm going for a sleepover at my friend's house tonight. We've been friends since like forever, at school together, we're both into basketball and running and stuff like that. i don't have many friends and I really really really want us to stay friends. But just this year I've been feeling a bit excited when i'm around him and I'm afraid that he'll know and think I'm gay and won't want me too near. I just want things to stay as they are. What can I do?

Well, not a complete boner maybe. Just a few twinges. But he's real athletic and strong and I think I wanna be more like him. He's a couple months younger and he's inches shorter than me but he nearly always beats me in a race -- a real winner! Ok well maybe I got a boner thinking about this, but I don't want him to know. There's no way I'll do anything to let him know.

Just had a talk with my big bro -- he knew I was worried about tonight and he got the reason out of me. After he laughed at me (huh) he was like -- you're just a kid and so's he (huh). You don't "have" to do anything even if you was totally in love with him. I guess he's right. Dunno what I thought I'd have to do if I'm gay but I don't "have" to do anything. :)

Yeah. I needn't have spent all that time worrying. Everything was fine. We just had a lot of fun. I'm not in love with Pod,:) I just like hanging out and so does he I think. Just doing guy stuff and havin a laff.

It's easy to get really worked up about some of this stuff but I think your brother was totally right. It's often best just to relax and not over-think things, and you should never "have" to do anything you don't feel like doing, no matter what.

He's your best mate and you like him a lot, because of course he's your best mate and you have lots of fun together.

Getting a boner sometimes yeah that's normal. Hormones raging etc. Even if you might end up getting feelings for him or whatever... Well there's nothing you can do about that.
Just enjoy your friendship and don't worry too much about it. Carpe diem my friend ;)
