So I guess I'll start by saying that I came out two days ago. Everyone took it incredibly well, and many of them congratulated me. The thing is, since I came out, I've had this lingering feeling of vulnerability. My question is for those of you who are no longer closeted, have you ever had this feeling? If so, did it go away or is it permanent? Why do you think I'm experiencing it? Thanks for your help!

I've just felt happier. :)

I know, it's great! I'd been feeling super depressed for the past few weeks, but as soon as I came out, it all disappeared. Unfortunately it was replaced with the "vulnerable" feeling.

It goes away with time, you'll get more 'used' to being out before you know it.
I came out when I was sixteen and felt sort of scared for months, but here I am, about to turn eighteen and I feel fine. My sexuality is a small (but important) part of my personality and that's all it need be.
Just give it some time, spend time with people who are accepting and before you know it being queer won't even enter your mind.
