Porn- dirty or not?

I'm bored, so that's why the title of this thread sounds random. Anyway, I personally think porn is dirty...as in gross, as in...wrong?

For several reasons:

- They pay these lowlifes to have sex or do sexual things with people they probably don't know. or do know, but..yeh.

- It can make a wrong impression. Like for those who haven't done it, and are to watch an episode(s) of porn, they'll right away think that it actually happens like that, whatever that is.

- Also, it can make you feel guilty afterwards...I think?

Anyway, I'm not saying that watching porn is completely wrong, but it's wrong enough to be stupid. Believe me, there's a whole lot of better things to watch, or do...other then..Porn.

I have seen porn once or twice in my life...I will not be expressing my opinion on it...too...verbal, and stuff. Anyway, what are your views?

I've never really thought about it... I think its dirty.. but you kind of get addicted to it.. You see it once and you're like.. "Oh, one more peek won't hurt", and then you're like that almost every day.. I don't really feel guilty.. but hmmm.. this really isn't going to be much of a debate.. I think this is going to be more of a place where people will post their opinions.. I don't see many arguments surfacing.. but I'm always wrong.. :)

It really depends on your definition of "dirty"... I mean, its supposed to be "dirty" in a sense.. I mean.. I don't feel bad when I watch it (btw, I don't watch it very often, but I've seen plenty of it).. But I don't really know.. Again, in the back of my mind I think that its "dirty", but I mean, then again, all my friends see it.. so yeah.. I don't know.. If the general population says its okay.. then I just go with the flow.. I mean if I was disgusted by it.. I wouldn't continually watch it.. so I can't blame peer pressure.. Hmm.. This really got me thinking.. now my brain hurts.. :/

^^^ Wow nice response. I really don't know what to make of it honestly. If I had a kid and caught him watching it I probably wouldn't punish him (who didn't watch it at least once as a teenager?) but I would have a long discussion about it with him. I'd definitely make sure that I explained to him that the things that go on in porn are fictional, and totally unrealistic. I'd probably only have an issue with it if he was watching porn that was purposely sick or distasteful (such as some extreme fetishes that he wouldn't need to be exposed to when he can't understand that kind of thing at his age... I guess).

First of all, porn is not just something to wank to. Its more entertaining/deeper than that, at least for me.

And most teens dont have "love partner", and even if they do, they still can enjoy porn in a nice, clean way. Also, I highly doubt ANYONE would prefer porn over a loving session with a partner.

I think it's ok but I've only watched it 3 times. It's not that big to me as long as they know that they are doing it willingly.

Porn is ok but sometimes it can get out of hand. usally the stuff they show on like HBo or something are usally fake, it's not real.

Porn is fun. honestly, that is all it is. I have had real sexual experiences AFTER having been addicted to porn, and I knew full well that porn videos were fake. Do people watch action movies and think real war or gun fights or espionae is really like that? no, not anyone worth bothering with. Same with porn. People dont watch and take notes; they are to busy jacking off. Is porn dirty? of course! thats the point. nobody likes clean porn. it isnt interesting, and its not really porn. but people who wathc porn dont care if its dirty; really they embrace it. they embrace the oppurtunity to embrace their sexuality if they dont already have a sexual partner, or if they do and arent getting enough out of it, etc. Its a chance to live out your fantasies on screen and in your own mind. Its just fun. I dont think its for everyone, but if you can handle it, go for it.

BTW, my addiction is extensive; an hour or two of video browsing and story reading (try it, its great) a day.

I dont think its dirty. (for the most part) its kinda of artistic in a way. People expressing love and or lust for each other. They arent 'lowlifes' they are artists who perform sex for entertainment and edecational purposes because sex is a party of life. If you dont like it, dont watch it!

To answer Chay: I do think porn is dirty. Someone else posted, 'The fact that it's dirty is the whole point. It makes it interesting. Clean porn is boring'. I also agree with that.

Of course it's 'dirty', but that's a good thing and that's the purpose of it. People can embellish in their fantasies without going out and doing them with the possibility of getting into trouble.

The porn is meant to have some element of being "dirty", some more than others to make it hotter. The point about little kids seeing it is somewhat silly. Either, the kid walks into a porn shop and buys a video illegaly, they willingly search it or by some random act, someone leaves a porn running and lets the kid watch. First one is unlikely and the last 2 are more likely but I doubt occur all that often. The kids have access to many things, not only porn, they could watch human/animal torture or killings also, they could watch random music videos, etc... .

As for setting a bad example, well, it's meant to get people to jack off, it's not aiming to give a good or bad example.

Overall, I say if you like it then watch it, if you don't like it then don't watch it. However, humans are sexual and social creatures, so we're going to have various fantasies and porn is one way to express or let them out.

I don't think that porn is some morally reprehensible thing that should be banned by law or anything. I actually used to watch it.... alot. Like, way too often.

But then one day I was watching one online porn video, and I don't know why, but some switch flipped in my brain all of a sudden, and I felt really disappointed by myself for being... entertained, I guess, by that crap. I used to hold the view that many people share - porn is a business out to exploit the people who star in the videos/photos. But after seeing some interviews with some famous pornstars, I changed my tune.

These people enjoy what they're doing.

Pornography is a turn on, an aid to masturbation, a form of expression and a form of entertainment.
The only difference between pornography and your regular feature length is that one is centered entirely around sex. This is why it is seen as dirty. In society, nearly everything relating to sex is considered to be dirty.
