Although, I am just a newbie here, I have run, and worked with Many Forum sites and software before. I suggest that you upgrade to one of the better software that is availible.

I would suggest Invision, the cost is worth it, and I believe it is comparable to vBulletin. It looks a lot cleaner, and is more user friendly & Modern.

If you have questions about it, please message me, or send an email! :P

We aren't upgrading to any new forum software anytime soon. vB3 has been working for us for the past six to seven years. There is no need for an upgrade. Plus, we are a teen help site; we don't need the latest and greatest stuff, all we need is something that works and is simple.

Basically this. If you're here looking for a project, you won't be finding one either. We're perfectly capable of upgrading, however, there's simply no reason to at the moment.

I think vBulletin 3 fits VT just fine.

vBulletin is perfect for this website.

But my love will always be XenForo.<3

vB 3 is quite good already, and doesn't need change. Plus, I hate eye candy.

Simple answer: No

Explained answer: Why do we need to upgrade to new forum software when we've been getting along perfectly with vBulletin for years? If there are any issues, there is endless amounts of support on the internet, vB is a very credible host and vB 3.8 is basically the perfect forum software to run. Many forums still run vB 3.8, and a lot of the ones that don't, wish they still did :P I think that's honestly just a waste of money and would change the site for the worse. Why change everything about something that's already so good? Why make everything different so that the very few people who think this would be a good idea are pleased? I'm sure most members will agree that getting used to an entire new interface would hurt the site.

If it ain't broke :P

I have to say, I absolutely love the site the way it is. The new themes themselves feel like an upgrade.

I'm pretty sure it would be WAY too much work just to change the forum software to Invision. VT's the fine the way it is. It doesn't need upgrading to the newest version of vBulletin or any other software.

Updating the forum always opens up a can of worms and in doing so you'll start to wonder if its worth the money, headache, and frustration. Beside that point you have to ask if the VT members even want it. Whenever a suggestion comes up for an update there's always strong support to keep things how they are. Even in new versions of forum software the overall structure and design of an internet forum stays the same. Really the only thing that changes in future versions or software are that they are more designed to replicate a social network with a forum.
