View Full Version : What do Views mean on a thread? Not so simple question.

So it's not as simple as it sounds.

So when it says a thread has so many views, does that mean just members or members and visitors? Also, if the same member visits the same thread multiple times, does it only count as one view or does it count as 1 view each visit? Does the same apply to non members?

Nonmember = Visitor

I think it [-]counts as one view each visit (though I think there has to be a certain amount of time between each visit. I just viewed this thread then tried increasing the view again by reopening this thread, but it remained at 2 - you viewed, I viewed)[/-] counts as one view per member (if you visit a thread a second time, the views won't increase). I believe that guests can also increment the # of views.

If I'm wrong someone correct me >_<

I believe it is the total number of views. So if a thread has 20 views, that can be 5 from you, 2 from Jess, one for me, 2 from other various members, and 11 guest views.

This is going out on a limb, however, I believe that view counts are not updated right away, and it takes time to show. I'm not 100% sure about that though.
