I have been trimming my pubic hair for quite a while now, but recently I decided that I would shave all my pubic hair off. Now that was about a week ago and I have started to get these red dots that look like pimples where the hair used to be. Is this normal?

It could be a rash if you are allergic to whatever u used when u shaved (cream or whatever) but most likely you have some ingrown hairs.
If you go against the natural direction of the hair or press too hard with the razor, you may think youre getting a closer shave but instead it can cause ingrown hairs which is where the hair is too short and doesnt come back out properly, and it grows underneath the skin instead of outside it.
Usually it fixes itself (can take two or three weeks sometimes), and u should avoid shaving it again until it settles down or you will irritate it. Best thing to do is wash it regularly with soap and a wash cloth to keep it clean, otherwise its possible to get a minor skin infection, nothing serious but defnitely not what you want!
Tricks to fix it yourself can include very gently scrubbing the area each day with a spare soft toothbrush (make sure its a spare one!!) or lying down with a damp wash cloth on the area to soften the skin and encourage the hairs out. When you can actually see the hairs under the skin its possible to lift them out with a sterilised needle or tweezers, but be very careful if you do this and clean the area very thoroughly right afterwards too. Over time your skin will get used to the shaving but always remember not to press too hard or go against the grain.

It does happen - maybe you used a less than sharp razor or did you use electric?
Some healing cream - like savlon will help and use that and some water when you shave again if you use a razor.

Yea, I think the razor that I used wasn't very sharp. I will definitely not shave again until the hairs grow out o a considerable length.

In my experience, there's always lots of irritation the first couple times you shave. It was so bad for me that I decided I wasn't ever going to shave again, haha. But after a few more times, it started getting smoother and easier to do every time, and now, there is minimal irritation when I shave. Just make sure you watch out for anything that looks like it might be a rash or ingrown hair that can cause infections.

It happens... It goes away though. I wouldn't worry about it
