Is it lame?

Ok, please don't be too harsh, but here goes. So there's this girl that I really like. She is seriously like the sweetest girl I know in my grade - always in a good mood and smiling, never mean, all that. No surprise that I fell for her, right? I'm friends with her, not close, but still friends. I know I have to tell her ASAP. She's in 3 of my core, everyday classes, but her friends are always near her and i don't want it to be more awkward with them around. I know I might sound like a total coward or loser or whatever, but I can't talk to her about romance. I can talk to her about school stuff, but nothing romance-related. I always get nervous and hold out on people when the topic of romance comes up. And I know she'd never criticize me for this, or anything, unlike that last girl I liked...

After all that, how do I tell her? I'm so nervous but she's just...omg. How do I tell her without sounding like a loser or whatever?

This involves building up some courage, yes, but you will not regret it after. Tell her you want to talk with her for a moment, either before she finds a friend of hers (which would be certainly favourable for you) or just separate her from her group by saying that. Or if you have no shame at all just go like "HEY YOU! I LIKE YOU! WANNA GO OUT!" but that requires way more courage.

If I were you, I'd talk to her a bit more, not TOO close, but closer (don't want to end up being friendzoned). Just kinda throw hints and be subtle about it until you feel a bit more confident, then let her know.
