Put a curve in the race and the McClaren F1 wins. The Bugatti is faster, but it handles quite difficultly. Beautiful race though, and two amazing cars.

I don't care which one is faster. I just think that McClaren is way better than Bugatti.

Veyron SS hit 438kph, Agera R has yet to be tested (because VAG won't let them use Ehra-Leisen) but hit 402kph on an uphill straight on the Nurburgring.
The Veyron is a great car, but I would no doubt take the Mclaren F1 over it. The Veyron is faster in a straight line (btw, Hammond didnt use launch control in the Veyron in the race, to make it more fair), but the Mclaren F1 is such a better car in my mind. Better looks, epic engine and engineering, light weight, totally focused car. Veyron is pretty much a GT car in my mind. I also don't find the Veyron very impressive either.

I would never buy either. They're rich people toys. If you'd like to disagree with me, please tell me a real life circumstance where you'd need a 1,000 HP engine, or to go 200 MPH on a city or country roadway on your way to work. (because, let's be real, I've yet to seen an interstate with a speed limit of 190 MPH.)

Agreed. For coming out ~20 years ago, the mclaren is a superior car.

I was standing next to some guy at one of the pebble beach auctions few years ago when he bought a McLaren F1. Such an awesome experience.

Ill take neither. I mean why have a car that damn powerful and not be able to unleash its full potential?

Do you guys know the Veyron isn't the fastest car anymore because the 438kmh where reached with the limiter off, and as all have to be 100% stock, it's not valid? The record is set back to 408kmh, and if I remember well it was not set by a Bugatti

Guinness actually gave the record back to the Veyron, since the speed limiter is simply a piece of computer code and has nothing to do with the mechanical operation of the car.
I'd take the McLaren. I love the center-cockpit seating, the fact that its a manual, and its just a cooler car. And I don't care if I'll "never be able to use all that horsepower" for a couple of reasons:
1. I can accelerate all I want within the speed limit.
2. I do not, nor do I ever plan to, care for speed limits. With that being said, I don't cruise around at 100+mph, but a short blast on an empty road doesn't hurt.
