How to talk openly with him?

So my boyfriend and I have known each other for 4 years. We've been dating for 3 months. We haven't gone very far...actually not far at all. Just kissing.. And well, it's making me a little upset. My last boyfriend, he wanted to do more. And we could always talk about things of this nature. Our relationship was pretty much based around our.."sex" life (for lack of a better word). But with my current boyfriend, I don't even know how to start. I want to ask him about what a comfortable pace for him is. Like..things he wants to do, and their order..idk. I'd just like to be able to talk to him. How could I bring this up?

I'd say just be blunt about it, in my situation I usually let her take the lead (because I feel imposing and demanding if I ask, which is a stupid idea....but that's beside the point.) What's the worst he could say?
