So my friend lives right by my school and I have to walk by his house every day to go to school, and it brings sadness. For some reason, after 9th grade (in grade 11 now) we drifted apart, against my will. Like, I'd always ask if he could hangout, and he'd always have an excuse. I mean always. So then I stopped asking, now I feel very sad walking by his house, I just remember all the fun memories we had. I've known him since 3rd grade, and we've been best friends since 3rd grade, I would spend every weekend at his house and stay the night (well, a lot of weekends) and I would hangout with him 3-4x a week. What can I do to stop the grief I feel? I literally feel as if he has died because I haven't seen him in 2 years and he never hung out with me for the last year we were friends.

to be honest all there really is that can help make the sadness go away is time. Time will help show you what went wrong or why it really isn't your fault, etc. I'm going through the same thing now but the thing is mine still talks to me and it would make it easierifhe just stopped talking to me cuz all he is now is a jerk and doesn't even see it. Idont see him anymore and he doesntcall me anymore more just some texts here an there. I think you have to try to move forward and look as light on the situation asyou can, it may sound stupidand hardto do but it works and is possible.

I know I'm supposed to say that it will all be okay in a year or so but I know what it's like to lose a friend who you are really close to, I had the same problem about two mate's with one of my mates. It really got me down, I had about 6 months of him not speaking to me at all, I would see him everyday and it would kill me. Then in September I sat next to him in Maths and we just started talking again. I'm sure since you were friends for a while you can bring up stuff that happened in the past to make him laugh and then just talk from there. Trust me mate if you fight for it then it could work, good luck :)
