Sorry for the typos it's 11 pm on friday
I've been in special education since the age of three, (currently 10 days until I turn 15). So that makes twelve unfortunate years of being a special education. I'm in 9th grade, and have 25/75 Special ed/Reg. Ed classes, respectively.I am also in resoource room. The only sp. ed class being math. I don't need the extra help in anything, they create a false sense of "I'm in desperate in need of help". I absolutely hate it. I could go on and on about my teachers this year, but the year that was, at it's core seriously dysfunctional, and by the means of creating their own rules and disobeying federal law, was my 8th grade year. I made the worst mistake in my entire life, I put myself in Special ed Alg. 1. The teacher was less helpful than my reg. Alg 1 teacher, not answering questions that I had, I wound up getting a 73 on the regents, and a C+ in the class. The teacher had a sense that Math was more important than the other three combined. At my CSE, they spoke about my math and how I would be setting myself up for failure if I were to go into 9th grade math(Geometry). Im in a class called Foundations of Geometry, which is a class for idiots. I have a B in the class, and the teacher might not allow me to go to 9th grade math in 10th grade.
So enough of this sob story, I need to some answers for questions.
My resource room teacher is very tough, how do I overcome his attitude of "If your opinion differs from mine, then your wrong, how do I overcome this.
I have an A+ average in History, they put me into AP Art and Euro History, they might take me out of it because the rigor, how do I convince them to let go into it?
The final and most pivotal question of the entire post:
If my parents wish to take me out of my IEP,will they honor the request no matter what?
My CSE/IEP meeting if mid-may. A CSE board is to determine what is best for me next year. Which in my opinion is in a full general education environment.
If you have any questions at all just ask.
I need your help, and if you are here to tell me I shouldn't get out of my IEP, don't waste your time typing a response
