I am a young teen girl. Age of 13-15. I want some mature books with at least 250 pages so it can last me more than an hour.

I REALLY enjoyed Sarah Strohmeyer's "Smart Girls Get What They Want." My friend lent to me and I loved it!!

I have read the Percy Jackson series (loved both Heroes of Olympus and Percy jackson), Hunger Games series, Legend (first book only), Cat Royal (only the first 4; loved them!), and many more I cannot think of right now.

I don't really want the violence, though. I like a funny, drama, somewhat romance. My mom won't let me read anything too racey or drug-oriented. I liked the sounds of the Pretty Little Liars series, but I figured my mom wouldn't let me read it due to certain content. :/

I read at a high level. So anything non-violent and not too sexual
would be nice. :)
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'm reading The Game of Thrones at the moment, it's brilliant, and I highly recommend it!

Game of Thrones is wonderful, I've read all 5, but if you are attempting to avoid violence/racy content due to parents then I'd say wait a year or two, they are full of that stuff.

Definitely get the second book of Legend, read it recently it was great.

Beautiful Creatures series (Paranormal Teen Romance): Really good, different take on 'casters', not too much real violence, Ridley is the best ever, movie made recently no idea if it was good, Finished series you can read cover to cover.

Mortal Instruments series: My personal favorite series of all time, ever. I've read these 5 books 4 times each, and they are 4 of 10 books that I have ever reread and the only one I have multiple times. Different type of 'mythos', action, adventure, romance, lovable and diverse characters. I love it and it has my highest recommendation. 5 of 6 out, prequel series set in Victorian era, all 3 out.

Mythos Academy Novels: Really cool series that's ongoing by my second favorite author Jennifer Estep.

Divergent series (If you like Hunger Games, you'll like this)

Mythos Academy
Hex Hall Trilogy
Arena One (Zombehs)
Blue Bloods
Girl of Fire and Thorns (really cool)
Maximum Ride
False Prince (Ascendance Series)

Hopefully these are along the right track for you, if you want more mature/less mature, certain genres, etc. let me know I'm an English Major because of my love for Young Adult literature. Personally I like dystopias if you can't tell.

The Heart of Darkness, every single person should read that book, especially gringo teens. As the title suggests the book gets really dark and intense, it shows you another side of humanity.

When I was 13 I really enjoyed The Midnighters trilogy by Scott Westerfield. Also Unwind by Neal Shusterman though I'm not sure if that's entirely within your interests. Still worth a look at (it's been awhile since I've read it). Sundancer by Shelley Peterson is a really cute book.

Hm, yeah, I'd also recommend the Eragon series (I still need to read the last one). Also The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott. I really love that series.

To keep in mind for maybe a couple years from now though are definitely any books by George R. R. Martin but yeah, they can be very sexual and violent so probably not for you now.

GEMMA DOYLE TRILOGY IS AMAZING

Ehm. There are three of them, each about 500-800 pages (I can't quite remember, but someone thought I was reading a dictionary when I had the book).

1. A Great and Terrible Beauty
2. Rebel Angels
3. The Sweet Far Thing

Those are the three in order, author is Libba Bray. They are period pieces. If you read them you should definitely tell me what you thought.

Also, Delirium by Lauren Oliver is great too. It's a dystopian romance. It's also a trilogy. Other ones are Pandemonium and Requiem.

The Heart Of Darkness talks about the oberly poor people in Africa when it was under the British colonization. Just when The Heart Of Darkness was first published, an African author, Achebe, write another book as a response to The Heart Of Darkness. He called his book Things Fall Apart. ;)

1984 is full of sexual content (although it is an amazing book!!) but you said you did not want anything sexual. I agree with the rest though.
