View Full Version : Java No Works
Atonement

So, upon trying to enter the VT Chat Room, I was prompted to download the newest update of Java or continue. I had seen the notice before, so I decided it was time to update. So I did. After I updated, it prompted me to verify and said I needed another update, which I did. Eventually I tried to get into the VT Chat Room and it said I needed to update, always giving the same link to the same update which I had already installed. I uninstalled, reinstalled, used Microsoft Fixer, as suggested by the Java site, and it still won't work for me. Any suggests?
I'm running 32 bit Google Chrome, Windows 8, should any of that matter.

Sometimes a small bar pops up on top of the website saying that java needs to be updated but it still gives you the option to run Java, make sure you are not missing that.
When you install Java makes sure you are installing the right version meant for your computer. If you are running Java for Windows 8 32 bit version, you should have a 32 bit computer with windows 8. If not, then find the version that is specific to your computer.
Go onto Java's website and make sure you have the latest version. If you do, it's simply a problem with the chat room and not your computer/java

I'd recommend just uninstalling java completely. Avoid the whole updating nonsense that Java is famous for. Then, just install it again :)

uhh, Java, such an annoying necessity. Pity thinks like Minecraft use it and other embedded chips, cuz then it could bugger off and be replaced with something better like HTML5....

Yes Minecraft Does Use Java. :) I'm also a Java Programmer, and I work with Minecraft.
Now.. Back on Topic..
As for the OP.. Have you Tried Completely Uninstalling, and Re-installing Java 6?
