Is it possible to get a pop-up or audio (whichever was checked) when you are about to be disconnected due to inactivity? I know this isn't nessecary, but sometimes it can be helpful.

This would be really nice. I support.

If it was supported, it would be good. But to be honest a chat room is for chatting, if someones just sits there doing nothing there isn't much need to be notified before an auto-kick.

I'm sure if it was supported, it would already be turned on. The idle timer is roughly around 30 minutes. Just work around that. No real need for some notification for it.

This, exactly. It really irks me when people just '.' in chat.. Why sit there and keep yourself there if you're not talking? If it kicks you, you can just come back anyways, not that big a deal. But as he said, if you're just sitting there doing nothing, what is the need?

Thank you. I suppose that is truly the best way to look at it. :)

The chat room does give you an extraordinary amount of time before it actually times you out. If you're not typing anything for 15-20 minutes, then you probably don't need the system to try and keep you in there anyways.

Really? I didn't know it was that long. I don't think I have ever timed out. I haven't gone past 10-15 minutes in the past.

And much to Val's dismay, I admit to being a dotter.

Oh Allison, lol! I suppose there is more of a reason for mods, as they can moderate without having to be in a conversation. :)

I don't think it's needed at all, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of idling out? If you get kicked for being idle it means that you've gone 30 minutes without typing, sending a message or clicking on anything... By that time why are you even still in there? :P

I don't exactly think that this is needed, but I also don't see anything wrong with somebody just sitting in there and dotting to avoid timing out if there's no real conversation going on. I stay in the chat for a lot of the time where it's either just me and I'm dotting, seeing if somebody else is going to pass through, or seeing if another conversation will arise.

If you're not paying attention to the chat at all, then that's kind of the point of time time-out auto kick.

I disapprove of the idea, although I would rather have this over people who just chat with "." That is the most annoying thing to see in chat.

I do the "." because sometimes messages don't load if I dont, due to the lag.
