Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - The Star Wars universe seems quite simple, Knights of the Old Republic explores a whole new time period and creates a both long and immersive story with one of the best plot twists and dialogue sections in video game history. Every character that you meet has a deeper story to them than you think and gives you additional quests related to them. It is one of the most complete experiences and a game every respectable gamer should play.

Grand Theft Auto IV is my favorite because you can do so much in it!

Probably Fallout New Vegas. The actual game play isn't the best ever but the actual game is freaking awesome. Amazing writing, awesome story and some unforgettable characters. Not a lot of other games out there could make a small group of fifteen year old's question their morality and discuss politics, haha.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

It might just be nostalgia leading me to answer with this, but I really feel like the game was greatly fleshed out. The graphics were great for it's time. The music is phenomenal. The characters all have back stories. You can honestly lose yourself in the game. It was a pretty simple game when you think about it, but it has such great replay value. I've played through it probably 10 times in the past 5 years. I've started the Master Quest, but have not finished it yet.

Spiral knights, because I love adventure games with action, randomly selected levels, and awesome gear.

(I spent 5 minutes trying to figure out what I like about the game, I must be bad at these types of questions.)

Assassin's Creed II because of the fantastic combination of storytelling and gameplay.
Red Dead Redemption because Grand Theft Horse
And also because you can relive scenes from the Ol' West and for the awesome free roam. Also the Undead Nightmare DLC IS brilliant.

With the current generation of consoles I'd have to say Mafia 2 because of the amazing storyline. The PS2 era has to be Ratchet Gladiator (deadlocked). PS1 the first ever Spyro :D

Mass Effect and Halo series. I love the amount of storyline and campaign work that has been made. Each game has massive universes where the history is limitless. And im kinda a fanboy of both :P

The Borderlands series. It's an open-world first person shooter rpg. So unique. The humor is great, and there's so much you can do. There are probably like over 500 different and unique guns excluding the many different grenades. There are four "elemental" weapon types: acid, which eats armor; electricity spikes, which destroys shields and electrocutes enemies; fire, which burns flesh; and slag, which makes damage increase for non-elemental weapons. A very unique game. It's serious while being hilarious.

Saints Row 3 looks hella fun though.

My favorite game has to be Mafia 2

Because I like the plot of the game and everything! It's like GTA but more realistic.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Just got the game recently but it has:

-cool visuals
-intense moments
-excellent soundtrack/bgm
-original stories
-cool mechanic of presenting evidence
-funny dialogue
-Interesting characters

Maybe it is not the best game, but it is certainly up there for me.
