As much as I hate making threads about one band alone, I'm going to do just that. I really have fallen deeply in love with Coheed & Cambria. The band does not ever stick to one genre really. They have based themselves around more of a post-hardcore sound, but have not been afraid to stray into pure progressive metal and even some alternative songs. Everything they do blends so well and is just so unique.

What really makes Coheed very special and sets them apart from other bands is the story. Each album alone tells a story, but every album ties together with the same universe of the stories. The thing is though that Claudio crafted the songs around personal experiences then wrote the story of the Amory Wars around that, giving every song two meanings. It's really interesting to read the lyrics and to read the story of the albums. It's something I have yet to do, because it is not a necessary thing to do for the music. It only enhances the albums for the listener. I am actually getting a hold of the stories from my friend tomorrow and will start reading right away.

I cannot explain more though that the band is just phenomenal. They are wonderful musicians, wonderful people, and wonderful lyricists. I still find it crazy that they are really only known for "Welcome Home." They have so many more songs that are better, but ya know, that's my opinion. I think people should give them more of a chance.

I have been browsing them on youtube for a time now since I saw this thread.

Can you post songs that you favor? So that I can form a clear opinion on them.

I had a really hard time picking ones honestly. They're all really good, but I tried picking the ones I feel get received the best and that are easy to be listened to over and over again.

Honestly, they remind me of another band I listen to. It's called Fair To Midland. There is not much similarity, but both vocalist use high range vocals.
