Diary Editing Privileges

In diaries, you cannot edit posts. I know the power of moderators to edit other people's posts was taken away, but you can no longer edit your own post anymore either. I'm not sure if this has ever been brought up, but it's pretty bothersome to have this problem, especially when you forgot one thing in a post.

Couldn't you just post another post then merge the two posts?

Yes, but why can't there be an edit function too? I'm trying to make sure the function wasn't taken away on accident.

I seem to be able to edit my own posts fine in my diary....? I just can't edit my own posts when I lock a thread.

You should still be able to edit your own posts in a diary. However, if the thread is locked, you won't be able to edit your own posts.

The edit feature hasn't been taken away for your own posts... Are you sure you are looking at an open thread?

I wasn't aware that on a locked thread you could not edit. Thank you for the clarification. The thread was in fact lock. Sorry for all the confusion.
