We need to stay in the EU, do you have any idea how much trade we get from them, we need them in order for half of our business to stay aloft.

thats a scare story we buy in a lot more than we sell out and why cant we sell out after we leave? and why cant we decide our trade deals with non eu countrys? and its just an expensive pointless club which in 2014 will allow Romanian and Bulgarian people to come over from povety and the second they step on British soil theyre intitled to our benifits!!! which is TONES of money to them

The conservatives government have introduced a bill saying that there will be 24 month gap for when the Romanians and Bulgarians arrive until they can be entitled to benefits. I saw a BBC report which stated that immigrants from eastern europe are 70% less likely to claim benefits and they would not get income support or job seekers allowlance.
Also Jay 1 I do thank you...
Roughly half of UK exports go to the EU
Every UK household "earns" between £1,500 and £3,500 per annum thanks to the Single Market (SM)
33,000 people work for the European Commission, compared to 82,000 who work for UK Revenue and Customs
Only 6.8% of UK primary legislation and 14.1% of secondary legislation have anything to do with implementing EU obligations - not EU diktats - agreed to, approved of and signed off by UK officials

That is true. Do you think the companies we export to would suddenly stop buying our goods if we left the EU?
In other words do you think EU companies only buy our goods because we're in the EU?
How much do you think the CAP costs the UK?

I feel like I'm on a bloody talk show.
No, but being in the EU helps our trade.
For example there is reduced bureaucracy and paperwork - for instance, trade with the EU can be recorded on your VAT form in the same way as any of your sales and purchases in the UK
-harmonized standards - EU-wide technical and safety standards ensure that if you meet UK standards you’ll also meet the standards of other EU countries
movement of people - UK citizens have the right to travel, live and work in any EU country (you can also employ EU citizens to work in the UK)

How specifically does that differ with the way trade outside the EU (eg with the USA) is recorded on a VAT form?

I'll grant you being able to employ (cheap) EU labour would be a benefit to UK employers - one might then argue that causes unemployment amongst English people. 1 Polish plumber in work = 1 English plumber out of work.
Who told you being in the EU was good for trade?

Because as mentioned you record it as being British rather than from America being that you would have to pay a higher amount of taxes on it and it would require a lot more paperwork.

I've had an Englishmen fix our boiler and he fucked it up, if the polish plumber is better than I would rather have them. That's the reason why they are in work, my uncle got Polish university students working 12 hour a day on minimum wage helping clean his brewing machine's, they suggested working that long, they have a much better work ethic than his last workers

Being selfish so would I - but what would you do with the English qualified plumbers?
The other part was you said

How is the VAT form easier when dealing with an EU company vs outside the EU?

we can be part of the trade union without being controled and be able to represent our selves at trade unions

it was directly from the HM customs website, if you have an issue take it up with them. I assume though if it's outside of the Eu you need a different form and hence a different route

My issue is with you old chap - as I suspected you have no idea what a "VAT form" is or whether it's actually easier to fill in when dealing with an EU company.
Why mention it in a debate if you have no idea what you're talking about?

I'm not your chap. If you buy goods or services for your business in other countries in the European Union (EU), you may have to pay VAT on them. You may be able to reclaim the VAT you paid in the other EU country if you're VAT-registered in the UK, and bought the goods or services to use in your business.

Silly me thought you'd just copied and pasted something - I didn't realise you were knowledgeable about VAT
Just one question - do you think the difference in VAT treatment between EU vs non EU companies is a good reason to stay in the EU?
Hint: you won't find the answer on the HMRC website you would have to work it out for yourself.

I really hate the immigration rules EU choose for us, and the fact that they make us keep terrorists in the country.
I am split but leaving would be good in my opinion.

If we did leave it wouldn't work because the places in the European union that we trade with or buy shit of isn't going to be there anymore

I was using the VAT as an example of how there are not only cash related bonuses but also a reduced amount of paperwork for UK businesses operating in the EU making it easier for us to work within it. So yeah it's part of the wider economic plan for staying in the EU.
Hint: Your not funny

How do the cash related bonuses work? That would certainly be attractive
In terms of paperwork is there less for supplying or purchasing or both?
Honestly Harry I know you like the EU cos the BBC and the Guardian tells you to but do you have a better reason to stay in it than a reduction in paperwork?

Why would you choose to leave an unified economic plan giving you prime access to a market of hundreds of millions of people?
