I Think I might Be Overly Paranoid and possibly rigger happy.

Just like a few minutes ago, I heard a loud bang that came from downstairs. Out of instinct, I grabbed my Sig (which yes, is always loaded but trigger locked except for just recently when it was only on safety and ...) and went down there expecting to see some masked serial killer or something. NO. It was the washing machine and nothing more. I feel so fucking stupid! This isn't the first time something like this has happened. I am scared that I will end up hurting someone or worse. Help? :(

You seem a bit jumpy to me, and a gun isn't always the best first choice, peek around the corner, then if you do realize there is a threat then get your gun! But try for a knife or a bat instead of a gun when you're unsure. Gun safety is priority 1! But what to help your trigger-happiness....try going to the range more often maybe, so you don't want to shoot so bad. Not sure if that's it or not....anyway, hope this helped.

My mom does it too. Most of the time it's just the cats jumping around though. But if it's just me and her here at night, she'll grab the gun and check the house if she hears something.
