In the United states, is female sexism (sexism towards men) a big problem? Have we gone from one extreme to another? Example: A reporter was interviewing a professional baseball player, and asked him which player had the "largest bat". He said that he was offended, and she said it was just a joke. No Biggie. But what If a male reporter had asked a female baseball player which team-member had the biggest breasts? There would have been a huge feminist uproar, regardless of whether it was a joke or not. *discuss* :D

Nope.. I don't consider media as a good example to life..
Just look at how people are paid
If a man and a woman work on the exact same job, the exact same amount of time and if the work quanity is also exactly the same..
The man gets paid more

Ok I don't have time to go find some ''official data'' which will be untrue in reality..
But thats what I know from talking to more than enough people..
And ugh.. You are not thinking realisticly.. I am not going to answer that.. Sit down and think for a second.

The education system would have to be the best example of this. Twenty or thirty years ago it was designed for boys and girls were struggling. Now it is designed for girls and boys are struggling. Not that the entire thing isn't a broken mess, but it's geared more toward girls. As for sexism toward girls, they typically have less job opportunities. I guess it balances out a bit since the better educated girls become more qualified than the males they compete against.

The graph was on Wikipedia and was created using data from http://pubdb3.census.gov/macro/032006/perinc/new03_000.htm

WHAT ABOUT YOUR OWN LIVES
I experience this sorta thing all the time from girls. They all think that "guys only want one thing" and in this way of thinking miss out on guys that actually give a damn about them! Also, you wouldn't believe how many things these girls know about us! I can't go to school with any type of stain on my shirt because they could interpret it as a semen stain or something gross like that! Do YOU guys have any examples of this sexism in YOUR LIFE.

Its just apart of life. Everyone experiences racism, sexism, and discrimination in general at some point or another. People do get treated unfairly and it is true that certain groups are more vocal about issues than others but it doesn't make one more right than the other. Double standards, sterotypes, and unfairness are here to stay.
I don't think anything is becoming worst, but its more of realization of what has already existed.

Yes, other than in the whole of society, that is another great example. I experiance sexism every day at school from EVERY girl I meet/know. Even my mom is sexist towards me, and thinks most men are un-intelligent pigs...

That is just an example of immaturity from the girl(s)

I think people are just too damned uptight. Women, men, blacks, whites, christians, atheists, EVERYONE. I'm so sick of political corectness I can't stand it.

EXACTLY. Everyone should just ADMIT that they are biased in some way or another; then we could really just live with our differences without having to worry about discrimination OR political correctness.

Females are seen as physically MUCH weaker, I admit our bodies are not designed for muscle building but that does not mean we are pathetically weak. In a class we had an arm wrestle contest and I came SECOND, so I can't be that weak.
All I'm trying to say is we both get discriminated on a daily basis the above is just one example, but none-the-less a very valid one

I dont think that either male nor female or more sexist than each other. Sure, all these cases sound bad and all but there all equal. Esp. Girls are weak, boys are stupid, boys only want one thing, etc. There are equal amounts of sexist men as there are of sexist woman. We cant choose who is more sexist. Girls can be anything and they can do it probably twice as good as half the guys, but then again guys can do stuff better twice as well as girls.
(kinda confusing but it gets the point across)

Thats good for you seriously second place is sweet! but to be fair a boys muscle strength doesn't even start to grow really till puberty before that and in the early stages your standard boys are no stronger then your standard girls of the same age
Now I agree that physical strength is important in some jobs like front line soldiers, Righands, fire fighters, etc...
There are ALLOT of jobs where strength doesn't really matter at all

The exact stat if it hasn't been mentioned yet.
Women make somewhere between 74%-77% of what men make for the same job.

Just to sum up- all I was trying to say is that discrimination probably is round about equal, it's just some people are to ignorant to notice this ( I'm not saying anyone here is)

Well not that I've heard of no. But sexism towards women is the biggest problem we have.
I mean some men are saying that women are supposed to clean the house and have dinner ready by the time the husband comes home and then later maybe a round of sex.
I don't like it. We are all human beings why can't we all treat eachother that way?!
