Any people in or been in the navy??

long story short I wanna be in the navy as a officer preferably but was wundering how long your away at sea? is it hard being at sea? can you meet gfs/ bfs? and have a good relationship with them? all help appreciated

I'm intending to join the RN as a Mechanical Engineer Officer (Marine) in the Surface Fleet. The average length of deployment at sea is around 4-6 months for Surface and 5-7 months for Submarine. Some warships only do a few weeks but it depends on the vessel. Submarines are usually longer deployments as they require resupply in friendly ports between three-month patrols. One of the submarines has just passed nine months deployed. Relationships on board are generally to be professional and sexual contact on board is strictly prohibited.

*You are unlikely to get many people who are serving or who have served, on account of this being a forum for teenagers and service men and women being in highly professional and time-consuming jobs.
