I'm thinking about getting the latest game, what is the latest game out now? How good are the graphics? Can I just jump into the latest game and still get the story, or do I have to start from the beginning? What's the elder scrolls/skyrim/oblivion about? Are there different classes you can pick from? How big is the map? Can you provide a good video that shows the world of oblivion/skyrim/elder scrolls?

Skyrims the newest and best looking out of the franchise, oblivion is also a good game, graphics ain't the best though but still fun to play, the others morrowind etc... are a lot older but all of them are worth the try :)
each game has a seperate story about the character and they are as far as i remember in different areas, and there are different ways to play, since you level up based on how you play so you get archer xp if you use bows, sword xp for swords etc... as well as the armour types you use, and there are different races to choose but i cant remember if stats are affected by race or not :)

Decent graphics. That's all.
It's still extremely difficult, and nearly always frustrating.

Oblivion came out at the end of '06 and at the beggining of '07 for all platfirms. I suggest you get that, a lot more story and side stuff. Plus, it is harder then Skyrim. Plus, as the Hero of Kvatch, and later the Champion of Cyrodiil, people respect you more. After my friend finished the main quests, he killed half of Cheydinhal, and the guards did nothing. Skyrim's only redeeming attribute when ompared to Oblivion are it's graphics and it's better face models, but that is a minor thing.

Anyone who wants to get into The Elder Scrolls, follow this. Please, for the love of Akatosh, follow it.

Skyrim is fine but extremely overrated, Oblivion is horrible, Morrowind is incredible.

Yeah the face models in Oblivion suck, but the gameplay is awesome if you ask me. I would rather play Oblivion then Skyrim. In Skyrim everything is just so easy.

Well, the games are not really connected to one another so you can play which one you like. The only thing in common that they have is that the action is occurring in the same world, same continent, but in different countries and times.
Speaking of graphics - Skyrim is by far the neatest one. Its graphics are amazing, while in Oblivion there are mediocre graphics.
I played both of them, and I liked them both really much, but I have to give more points to Oblivion. The gameplay was great, really great, compared to Skyrim. In Skyrim I felt like things were going more...superficial...I don't really know how to state this. Things appeared to be more intriguing and more "real" in Oblivion. I truly felt like I was on an epic adventure, while on Skyrim, the questlines and boss battle didn't have such an impact.
