Hey VT, I'm hoping this is the right place to post this. I don't know why there isn't a literature subcategory in "The 4th Wall", but whatever. I'm hoping some of you can recommend some books for me to read. Recently I watched Donnie Darko and I loved it. I'm somewhat disappointed it isn't a book. I've read the Perks of Being a Wallflower but I haven't seen it yet. I heard it was mediocre but I've also heard it was great. Looking for Alaska is a book I'm thinking about picking up and reading. Can you all recommend anything similar to those to read? Thanks.

I can tell you right now to go out and get "The Gum Thief" by Douglas Coupland. I just finished reading the book today, and I'm still feeling a bit dazed. The book is deep and witty and filled with nuance. If you want a book that may make you question life and wonder why people sometimes act in a certain way, then you should read this book. I can almost guarantee that you won't find it disappointing.

Thanks, I'll try it.
I'm looking for those kinds of books and books about high school andd things. I liked Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie as well.

Send be a message if/when you read The Gum Thief, I'd like to know if it's really as good as I think it is, or if I'm just totally out of whack.
