Embarrassed to wear briefs...

Basically I am always so embarrassed about the fact that I wear briefs. I know I should wear what I want and not worry about others, but I still feel embarrassed about it. The thing is, I actually like briefs. They are comfortable and supportive. However, I feel like I am 8 years old wearing them and I feel like I look ridiculous in them too. I stay the night with friends all the time and all of them sleep in nothing but their boxers, but I can't do that with my underwear because I know they will make fun.

I actually own boxer briefs, but for some reason I just feel more comfortable in briefs. Boxer briefs definitely has their pros. I actually don't have a single con about boxer briefs. Yet I seem to ALWAYS go back to regular briefs.

I am thinking that maybe I should just throw my briefs out. That way I have no choice to wear boxer briefs from now on. Cause eventually I'll get more comfortable wearing them, right? Or is that too extreme?

However, I don't think it would be a bad thing in this case. I speak from experience when I say that you will get used to the lack of support that briefs used to offer. I can also tell you that you won't get made fun of if you're seen wearing boxers. For this generation, it's simply known as being cool/tough/"in". Don't ask me why. Someone's badass older brother did it back in 2003, then the younger brother did it because he idolizes his older brother and wants to look cool in front of his friends. It caught like wildfire, and there you have it. Fashion trends. Anyhow, I'd say that if you want to give boxers an extended trial, but can't quite stick to the regimen, then go ahead and throw your briefs out. Worst-case scenario, in a month you figure you still don't like boxers and you can ask your parent/guardian to buy you a fresh batch of briefs.

What I have officially done is thrown out every single pair of briefs that I own. Now all I have left is my boxer briefs. So far I like them and I am hoping to get used to them. If I don't, I'll just ask if I can get some more briefs. I am really hoping I get used to boxer briefs, though.

well heres a thought. I might be off base here though, not sure. if you're worried that briefs might "reveal" your package and that friends might make fun of you as a result, just say them "well, why are you even looking down there" :P

first, you're not a baby if you wear briefs ;-)
some people call briefs childish, but thats what most boys wore until not that long ago. if you prefer them, just keep them. if you are afraid you get embarrassed by other boys, just wear boxer briefs during the days you have to get changed in front of them (i.e if you have PE)
and if someone gets you embarrassed, justask him in front of everyone why he is so interested in other guys undies ;-)

Don't worry, I used to have that problem too. It may help if you get some cool briefs like American eagle or Calvin Klein. Never get white though unless you wanna look like a child. Do whatever you want though, I don't think your friends will drop you just cus of your underwear lol. After I changed to CK compression shorts I actually thought they were better. Do whatever you want tho, hope this helps.

Wear what you want to wear. A friend of mine started wearing briefs and we all busted on him for it at first. Now it's no big deal. It's just cuz it looks different. But he wears more than just white ones. It's just underwear.

Actualy I'm not as big or tough looking as you might imagine. I am quite normal in size and build, just enjoy athletics and I do work at keeping in shape. I have had my share of remarks but for the most part I just let roll off my back. Whats good for me is not always good for the other and I keep my sense in that thought. Im not changing for peers or for fashion. I hope that makes it a little clearer that im not some big tough guy that will beat a guy down for his opinions.
