Okay, this is a little discussion about Mecha and Powersuits. On what people think about them, is it plausible and all that. I'll hit it off with what I know on the subject and what I think is possible.

Some of us may have seen Mobilesuit Gundam 0079, 0080, 0083 Star Dust Memory, Zeta, Double Zeta, Wing, Endless Waltz, 08 MS Team, Gundam Seed, Seed Destiny, Gundam Seed Astray vs Gundam, Gundam Seed Starblazer, Gundam 00, Gundam 00 Season 2, Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer, Gundam Age, and Gundam Unicorn.

Others might have seen: Macross, Macross Frontier, Robotech Macross, Code Geass, Code Geass R2: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and a few other Mecha anime that I probably don't know of yet lol.

Many of us have played games that include Mecha in it.

Some of us might have seen series or movies with powersuits. Such as:

Iron Man, Starship Troopers, and a few others I probably don't know about.

Now, to plausibility and or perhaps possibility in today's time.

18 - 50 meter tall Gundams ARE NOT POSSIBLE with today's technology. The weight of the frame, powercore and everything would be too much for the mobilesuit to handle. Maybe in space, but not on Earth. So, what do you do to make it worth it on Earth? Scale down the whole thing's size from 18m tall to perhaps 7 or 9 meters tall. This means lighter materials can be used to better efficiency, and a very strong energy battery can be used.

Issue being, what materials can we use? Where would the pilot be? all that.

Simple, carbon steal can be effectively used to make these machines, especially with the machine's inner skeletal frame. The armor panels can be made from something a little heavier but denser to allow it to protect against certain projectiles. Now, in the essence of fighting against tanks, a good tank commander can take down a mobilesuit, but ordinarily, it would be too fast for the tank to simply remove unless at a distance.

Now, mecha in Code Geass have an element of reality to it, but Knightmare Frames like the Lancelot or the Guren MKII are not possible, the Gs handled by the pilot would be extreme. But in other cases like a Glasgow would be more possible. I just don't see room for the wheels on legs. Not sure how they can help move a 2 ton, 4 meter tall mecha.

Now, in the cases of Mecha, a Japanese company created the Kuratas. I am not sure if some of you have heard of it or not. But its pretty awesome. Just having built that and made it work is proof enough that it is possible. Although its still slightly too slow. Could with more technology and military backing become faster though.

Powersuits: There's a rumor or news that America is researching the powered exoskelton for it's troops. Whether this is true or not is uncertain, maybe someone who has more knowledge can help.

Something like the Ironman suit is not possible with our technology. Not now anyways. But like the Starship Troopers armor is more possible. Except we won't need it to fight bugs from another galaxy lol

Anyways, thats mostly what I got on the subject.

On to the rest of ya now. :)

So stuff like the iron Man suit won't ever exist in my lifetime? Wow what will I do with this extra hundred million dollars that's just laying around? :P
