i personally think that north Korea is just trying to show off their military strength and not do anything but if a war does happen i would imagine it to be somewhat relevant to what the game homefront was like and the movie red dawn but let me know what you guys think would happen and how it would play out in your head if north korea and the USA went to war

"(Reuters) - A Pentagon spy agency has concluded with "moderate confidence" that North Korea has developed a nuclear-tipped ballistic missile, an assessment swiftly dismissed by several U.S. officials and South Korea.

The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) said such a weapon would probably be unreliable. Its assessment, made public by a U.S. lawmaker in Washington, comes amid threats of war by North Korea and just hours before U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry arrives in Seoul on a visit to the region that will include stops in China and Japan.

South Korean and U.S. officials say Pyongyang appears set to test launch a medium-range missile as a show of strength ahead of the anniversary on Monday of the birth of North Korean founder Kim Il-Sung.

South Korea's Defence Ministry however said it did not believe North Korea could mount a nuclear warhead on a missile.

Despite the DIA report, the Pentagon's spokesman and the U.S. national intelligence director both said it was "inaccurate" to infer Pyongyang had the proven ability to launch a nuclear missile..."

Think about Kim Jong Un's perspective.
If he launches war, he'll get destroyed by the rest of the world.
If he doesn't, a lot of his people (that he works with) will think he's weak and he might get overthrown by his advisors or something.
Either way sucks.
So I guess we'll just have to see what happens

If they do nuke Usa i would say it would turn out to be a world war because i doubt Uk would just sit and watch

No matter how you see it their leader is crazy. Just proposing the idea of war was insane. He's gone all too far down the rabbit hole now. This doesn't really seem to be for his country, it's for him and if he backs out so does everything. From my perspective he'd rather be a martyr then a weakling.

what's really interesting about this is that the son of the current korean president does not really see a difference between north and south koreans. I mean, he wants unity while his father is just doing the opposite. I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard it through a friend. And it's plausible because the modern generation is more educated. Education rocks!

It's to really show off military power. Soon, the government will announce on state TV that they have "defeated" South Korea, US, Japan, etc. or, it will be government suicide.

This mostly seems to be more Pyongyang bluster and fearmongering, but I don't think it should be ignored: North Korea could develop more advanced technology and become a more serious problem if things are allowed to progress too far. If they do launch an attack anywhere though, the whole rest of the world would be on their ass so fast they wouldn't know what happened
