I've really been into this girl and I like her a lot. I've been trying to talk to her a lot more lately so that we could get more familiar with each other. But she is really shy so its been hard to get her to come out of her shell.
I just asked her to go to a carnival with me this weekend, but she says she's celebrating her friends birthday this weekend and spending the whole time with them.
The more I press to try and get to know her, the more it seems she is disinterested. I tend to stop bothering with a crush once I can see that they aren't interested, but I like this girl a lot.
I don't know what to do. I don't want to waste my time pursuing this girl and it turns out she doesnt even like me.

try making plans with her again for this weekend (or whenever). if she says yes then great, but if she makes up another excuse maybe she could be avoiding you because she doesnt see you as more than a friend. if you keep getting signals she doesnt like you then move on.

Go ahead and move on, you've been friend zoned, ad that means she'd rather ride the ferris wheel with 500lb Kristy at that carnival. Next girl, mi amigo.

Friend zone doesn't really exist, it's something we use as an excuse to not get the girl. If you want out of said friend zone, make more advances or make the girl jealous.

Thanks, I'll go for another press. I'll probably ask her to a movie or something. Only way to know for sure is to try again.

Dude, I had the same deal happen with this girl I knew.
Every time I asked her to hang out, it was either she was tired, had homework, or hanging out with other friends. I was interested in her, too.
Anyway, that happened a lot, and I finally moved on when we were gonna hang out this one day, right after I got off work at 4pm. At 3:50, we were gonna hang out. At 4:05, she texted me that because it started to sprinkle she didn't want to hang out. I was like "Mmkay fine. Ttyl." all pissy. ;)
Anyway, I'd say move on, because if she never has time for you, you're wasting yours when you could be spending it more productively and happier.
Hopefully this helped!

I talked to her today and says she's usually really busy with friends and family. I'll give her one last chance, but I'm done if I she can't find time for me. I've already started flirting with a girl who has been dropping hints that she's interested in me.

Dude, listen.
Stop talking to her and being her friend. Eventually she will realize how much she valued your friendship and will come back to you, play it cool from there untill she is your gf and then feel free to do all the cute BS with her.
If she doesn't come back, she wasn't ever worth it.
