So I've been going to this very small private school (11 kids in 7/8 grades combined) for two years now and developed a crush on this girl. We've become closer and closer over the past couple months and relate on all these things. We both are a little worried about going to high school but the bigger issue is that we are going to be going to high schools in different cities. Being in eighth grade, flirting can be hard so I have been working on getting to her in different ways. Here are some of my worries if I ask her out:

1. I ask her out and she says no. Rumors go around and I become the hated desperate kid (unlikely but could happen). I've had that happen before.

2. She says she is not allowed to date and we lose our friendship since everyone is so close at this school.

3. She freaks out and doesn't know what to say.

The main thing I want to know is: when should I ask her out? There is less than two months left in school and I feel that asking her out now would be a risk that could ruin the last two months of school for me. I could ask her out on the last day of school or within that week so I am not made fun of or anything like that. I could then spend the summer with her which would be a better thing in my opinion. I got some great advice on my last issue so I am curious to see what you guys think about this issue. Thanks!

Take the risk. If you two are as close as you think, you shouldnt be afraid. Try to find alone time with her and slip it into conversation to make it easier for her to handle.

Best of luck.

Why're you afraid of being mocked? If you like someone, you like them. It's not something to ever be ashamed of.

And there is no 'right time' to ask someone out. You pick a moment and you do it.

It's never a 'when' so much as a 'how.'
