How to ask

Ok so I'm bi. And I'm usually really good at asking people out but this one has stumped me. I have a friend. A really close friend. I'm 90% sure he is bi as well. I'm also 95% sure he doesn't know I'm bi. So I want to ask him out but I don't know how to figure out if he wants that or not without it turning into an awkward silence:P. any help is appreciated :D
