Go to a doctor, you could have potential spinal damage. Or a chiropractor, maybe you're just outta whack and need someone to put you back together lol.

You could have pulled a muscle, which would cause pain and discomfort, but you can never be too careful. Since you said ibuprofen isn't helping and it's been chronic for three days now I would go to see a doctor if I were you. If there is a problem, you don't want to let it get worse.

My sister had this a couple of days ago, she had just pulled a muscle in the back of her neck, but if the pain continues then head over to the doctors just to be safe

If it was any other part of your body, I would say to wait it out. However, your neck contains all your nerves. Better to not be messing with that, go see a doctor.

I would see a chiropractor. DO NOT try and fix it your self.

Hopefully by now you went and saw a doctor (or got better!)
You shld always take care with your neck and get it checked out if there are problems. They will ask you things like did it come on suddenly or slow at first, was there any particular thing like an injury or did it start by itself, do you have any numbness e.g. in your arms, does it hurt in a particuly position or is there a normal position u cant go into (don't force yourself just to try!), etc., so its a gd idea to have a think about those things so ur ready to tell them.
Also: if you ever get neck pain and also have a rash, or you have a crazy bad headache, or it hurts to look towards any bright light, you should get emergency attention right away!

Any heavy lifting? You prob threw it out, especially since it didn't go away, I think maybe pinched nerve or pulled muscle, what exactly did you do?

I am an Emergency Medical Tech, as well as a certified athletic trainer. I recommend using the RICE method for 24 hours. Rest, Ice (20 min. on 20 min. off) Compression (Find athletic tape at your local drug store and wrap your lower back) Elevation (Difficult to do for back but you can prop two pillows under your back while your sleeping. If it is above your heart this induces faster healing for muscules, tendons and other injuries.)
If problem persists you can go to your school athletic trainer (If applicable) or go to your physician.
